What to do if my audio system doesn't play on all speakers?
Hi, I have a Genius audio surround system 5.1. When I play the "test" or "preview" sound in Windows , the noise is heard on all speakers, but if I try to play a song or a movie, I only hear the front left and right speakers. Can anyone help me and give me some guidelines regarding what I am supposed to do? Thanks…
Windows Vista Home Premium
My software and audio drivers are up to date.

Download the latest audio drivers for your computer, and go to speaker settings and make sure all speakers are turned on volume max.
then turn down the overall volume so it doesn’t blow your ears lawl
What OS do you have?

It sounds like the software you are using to play your songs/movies is not configured for 5.1 sound.
Check out the configurations on your software.
