It seems like I see a lot of kits where the ground wire is smaller than the power wire. On the other hand, one of the "big 3" in car audio is beefing up the ground wire on your alternator.
im unpgrading my car audio system and its going to be pretty loud with two amps at about 1000 watss rms. and i have 10000k HID headlights. I planned on upgrading the big three and getting a yellow top battery. what amperage do i need my upgraded alternator need to be? and where can i get one of quality and at a cheap price.
Car audio battery is a kinetik 800 model. there isn’t a performance alternator for my car. i have a directed amp 1200 going to two 12in mtx 5500 series in a slegde hammer box.
Hello, I am getting a car audio system, will run about 1750-2000 watts RMS at 4 OHMS. It is composed of 2 amplifiers. I was wondering what kind of alternator I would need to upgrade to (how many amps?) Also would it make a difference to get a deep cycle battery, and if so could you recommend one? I am new to car audio and dont understand too much! Thanks, all answers appreciated.
Car audio system - 2 550 watt amplifiers, 2 10" subs, 2 250 watt 6×9s, 1 .5 farad capacitor, upgraded battery and alternator. After installing the capacitor according to the manufacturer’s wiring diagram, I find that the car battery is draining while parked with the system turned off. The amps are powering off, the only apparent cause is the recently added capacitor. After removing the cap from the system, the battery drain appears to have stopped. Is this normal for a capacitor to drain the battery under these conditions, or could it be malfunctioning? |
