Incar Audio Systems

I am looking to buy an audio system but I do not know what exactly yo look for; a home theater system, a stereo system, etc.

What I want to do is to be able to put speakers around my room, hook up my ipod or a play a CD, and be able to just play music from all speakers.

Should I be looking for a home theater system or a shelve stereo or what?

I want to know which is better for bass. Because i’m getting a 2011 mustang and i was planning on putting two twelve inch subs in it but they have an optional package where it can come with a shaker 1000 audio system. So which hits the best?

I want to put a brand new audio system in my car with everything i need to make it loud as hell, but I’m not sure what equiptment I need to buy (subs, amp?) and how many of each i would need to buy. For example, I’ve seen cars with multiple amps.
